An Evening of Fine Art and Wine

Please join the Yakima Enological Society for our first event at the Yakima Valley College’s new facilities on the corner of 16th and Nob Hill on Wednesday, November 10th. The event will be held in the new Larson Galley and in the adjoining Yakima Valley Vintners new tasting room. Upon arrival and check-in you will be given a greeting wine and a ballot upon which we want you, after reviewing the 66th Annual Central Washington Artists Exhibition, to vote for your top two (2) pieces of artwork. Yakima Enological Society will be awarding two (2) “YES Members Choice Awards” to the two pieces that receive the highest number of votes.

During your time reviewing all the exhibited artwork in the gallery, you will enjoy wines from “Yakima Valley Vintners” and fantastic hors d’oeuvres from “Catering Creations by Toni” We will also be pouring wine at the new tasting room next door to the Larson Gallery. The wines will include Semillon, Chardonnay, Primitivo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. These wines, many of which have won awards including Platinum, were all made by the students of the YVC Enology program in Grandview. The YVV tasting room will also be serving wines by the glass and wines to take home at a 30% discount. Wine glasses will be provided.

During the event, we will have a brief presentation by David Lynx, Director of the Larson Gallery, and by Annette Wattenbarger, Tasting Room Coordinator for YVC. At the end of the evening, we will tally the votes and award a first prize award of $125 and a second prize award of $75 to the winning artists.

If you have not had a chance to tour the new facilities of the Yakima Valley College, this will be a great opportunity to see what is new in Yakima. You will also be supporting the enology students and the artists of Central Washington. So please join us for a special evening of good art, wine, food, and friends.

The Yakima Enological Society was established in 1976.  Our purpose is to “foster interest in and appreciation of viticulture, enology, and proper use of wine”.

Our meetings are generally held the second Wednesday of the month, however we do offer tastings through the year on different days of the week.
